Numbers
When a Dr. Morton Kaplan, of the University of Chicago, was proposing a conference on 'The Decline of the Soviet Empire' in 1984, Reverend Moon met with him and insisted he declare the 'End of the Soviet Empire'. Eventually Dr. Kaplan made such a proclamation, the conference being held in 1985, before the Soviet Union fell. It was a PWPA conference, an organization founded by Reverend Moon. Though Dr. Kaplan held some trepidation in making such a statement, he did. The story told by Reverend Moon in his autobiography.
The confidence in declaring an 'end' to the Soviet Union came from the principle that history works through certain numbers and that the Soviet Union was a satanic empire. So it had 66 years to expand from 1917 and would be completely gone within 70 years, a heavenly number. The Divine Principle is very specific in numbers throughout history.
So can that theory be applied to the nuclear bomb? I haven't heard anything either way but have just been considering it in my own mind. The bomb is simply a tool, but built to destroy. Does that make it inherently evil? Its use is said to have saved many lives in the Second World War.
The 65th anniversary of the bombing of Japan has recently passed. When considering what is going on with Iran and this number principle, I would have to conclude that over this next year there is great danger that nuclear weapons could be used based on the number 66. But I would also have to conclude, based on the number 70 and not believing in an apocalyptic end of the world, that the next five years hold great promise for new advances in nuclear energy.
North Korea has claimed that they have developed nuclear fusion energy. Well, accidents have happened. They claim it to be a weapon though, as I understand it, it would be a safer process than fission. That the fusion process would not produce dangerous byproducts that are the basic materials for building nuclear bombs.
Just the replacement of fission reactors with fusion reactors would make the world a safer place. It would allow for cheap abundant energy to run economic development. That would truly empower North Korea, as China currently has hold over most of its power production.
Just showing how my beliefs influence my world view and opinions.
