Why the Unification Church Will Never Approve Homosexual Marriages
As one Christian denomination after another enslave themselves to popular culture and alter, or surrender, their doctrine to a norm which includes homosexual marriages or unions, the Presbyterians one of the latest, I can guarantee you the the Unification Church never will.
The God Reverend Moon has revealed to this world, to all humankind, is absolute but in a way that transforms one’s vision of the world, unlike the way traditional Christianity does.
Where did evil come from? If God absolutely predestined all things and knew this world would turn out the way it did, then evil was conceived from before the creation by God. It was understood by God somehow. Wouldn’t that make it a part of God? Then what is the gulf between man and God caused by sin? Would not such a God be able to relate with sin just as He does goodness? Looking at the world in its’ present state wouldn’t we call such a god sadistic?
If evil came from another being not originating from God, then we are trapped in an eternal dualism. There would be no end to evil as good and evil would each have their own origins, existing in this one world. How does one side declare supremacy over the other? It would suggest an eternal struggle and there would be no salvation as Christianity perceives it. Under such a reality would there be any need to separate good from evil? Wouldn’t the natural state be one of coexistence?
In the Unification Church God is absolute love, absolute goodness, absolute selflessness that never could imagine the evil world that has come to pass. Evil originated after the creation, not of God’s intent. It developed from the free will given not only to Adam and Eve but to the Archangel. You can find the reasons and implications in the Divine Principle, the doctrine of the Unification Church.
According to the Divine Principle God cannot have anything to do with evil, or he gives it the value of one of his creations. Again God is absolute and evil was not part of His creation. God could never give evil the value of one of His creations and therefore could never allow evil to alter His plans or their outcome; God is all powerful. It means all people, not just a chosen few, in the end must return to the purpose for which God created them. It does not mean there is no hell. It means that hell, evil and every expression thereof will cease to exist and disappear from the very memory of the universe, of God and all men at some point.
Traditional Christianity does not believe in God as revealed by Reverend Moon. That does not mean that these are not views originating from the Judeo-Christian tradition, just that they were rejected in the past at times at the cost of the lives of those who professed them.
So what is the plan, the goal of this absolutely God of goodness and love? To have children. Human beings were created to be God’s children. Humankind was created, from the very beginning, from the time of Adam and Eve, to create an ideal world, God’s kingdom of heaven on earth.
There would have been no need for religion, salvation or an apocalyptic end of the world. The end of the world spoken of in the Bible is the end of this evil world, not the world God created, but all that men devoted to evil, Satan, created.
Ultimately as God’s children we should have the potential to become like God, first and foremost in the realm of love. How did God intend for us to accomplish this standard? It starts first with the family He instituted. Family, one man for one woman coming together in an eternal union that forms a complete form of God’s nature, through which the creation of life and the raising of children grows man’s heart to resemble that of God’s.
The Unification Church will never recognize homosexuality as nothing but the sin it is. Family is central to God’s work and homosexuality stands in stark contradiction to that ideal. This is unlike many Christian denominations, including Joel Osteen and an increasingly confused Catholicism, that try to skirt the issue of homosexuality by claiming it is not central to their work.
Further, as humankind, the only being in all of this created world that can understand the creation in its’ entirety, even becoming creators themselves, relates and comprehends the entirety of the creation we further grow in our understanding of God’s love. We come to understand the complete selflessness that was required to bring about this magnificence. As we become individuals of ideal goodness, come together as husband and wife and raise a family and come to comprehend and have dominion over all creation we truly come to be like God ourselves, we are truly His children. Like every parent, God desires His children to be just like Him and to even go beyond.
This is freedom. When one recognizes the greater goodness, the devotions of the past that made all they enjoy possible, they submit to the wisdom of those who have come before, ultimately God, and acquire the understanding that frees them to accomplish any goal their heart desires. One becomes empowered, not enslaved. It is sin that enslaves. A free man gives himself to the greater good, his desires become aligned with those of God producing great joy, and then such a man (or woman) is free to fulfill any and all desires specific to his unique personal individuality and is immensely empowered to do so. But if you look at this pop culture, the homosexual agenda it is all about one thing, oneself.
The free sex culture claims to be free but are they? Cooking shows are very popular. The chefs that have mastered themselves and their craft are free to do just about anything. They can start a restaurant almost anywhere they desire. They can do TV shows and have made themselves rich enough to just spend the rest of their lives fishing if they want. They had to commit themselves to a discipline and attain mastery to achieve this freedom.
The Pilgrims who founded our great nation, were they free? They came here for freedom, yet when they arrived they could do little more than scratch out a life of farming and living off the land just to survive. It would be generations before their descendants could educate themselves and pursue a greater and greater variety of professions and accomplishments. Yet didn’t they give birth to freedom? Didn’t they give birth to a freedom that has blessed the entire world?
Doing whatever inflames ones passions in the moment is not freedom. It leads to addiction, broken families and ultimately an ever greater depravity. One becomes a slave to sin and it is reflected in a society that becomes increasingly unproductive and self consumed where options ultimately shrink and finally disappear. It separates humankind from God and the wonders of His creation.
Reverend Moon has brought God’s word that clarifies the ambiguity found in the Bible (YES, there are over 3,000 denominations all seeing something different in the very same words). I know many people vehemently oppose the Unification Church not for its’ stand on homosexual marriage, but for Reverend Moon and His wife being upheld as the True Parents, the third Adam with His new Eve; the starting point through which ultimately all humankind past and in the future will be reconnected to God’s ideal. Simply put, what God intended in the beginning, in the Garden of Eden.
In making these claims I face derision myself and people will persecute me, those of my faith, and most viciously Reverend Moon. They claim we are evil, blasphemers, cultists and claim the moral authority, the moral high ground to justify their abuse of Reverend Moon and His followers. So… What happens when the Unification Church is the last Church that still believes homosexuality is a sin and not of God’s creation?
In these times of confusion the mantra is, ‘I’m OK, you’re OK, we’re all OK; no one can judge anyone else, you cannot judge me (unless I’m a faith you don’t agree with) and I cannot judge you. But Christ comes to judge. Who brings the word of judgment in these times of confusion, judgment meant to lead to repentance and ultimately salvation? Christianity? Reverend Moon went across this country over and over beginning in the 70’s warning of the moral decay of this nation, that it was falling into depravity, that it was losing God’s blessings. His message does not change.
