It is That Time of Year

Image
Merry Christmas to all. It is a wondrous beautiful time of year. It is also the time of year where so many want to tell me what I believe, or rather what I do not believe. My response to those claiming they know what I believe, particularly to those who are not interested in listening to what I truly believe, is to pray. Pray to Jesus and ask him if He knows me and if I know Him. I anxiously await to hear what He has to reveal to you, from whatever way God speaks to you. What we do not pray for may be more significant in understanding who we are than what we do pray for. We pray when we are suffering some pain or injustice, to understand some tragedy, when nothing goes right. Do we pray over what challenges our beliefs? Do we pray to understand something, that if true, would compel a change to our life: a life we have become so comfortable in? Can we, especially at this glorious time of year, judge another’s beliefs we know nothing about? Can we say that bec

The Truth

“The truth is the shortest distance between two points.” A statement I recall from reading a speech by Reverend Moon. Is it true? Typical situation: A friend, colleague, coworker, family member or acquaintance walks up and asks you, “How are you?” “Should I give you the short answer or do you have five hours?” you respond. It is a thought going through my mind whenever I am asked. “The short answer.” “I’m fine.” Am I fine? Am I simply being polite? Is it honest? Is it the truth? Am I fine in regards to any responsibility, or job, I am being asked to take on and oversee? Did I say that? “I am fine in regards to the task at hand.” “I am fine in that I am happy to see you.” These may be closer to the truth, qualifying in what regards, ‘I am fine.’ “I am sick.” “I am tired, but okay to work.” Also more descriptive, more honest and closer to the truth as to “How are you?” Now, “Do you have five hours?” If you chose those five hours I susp

The Inspired Word of God

The Bible is considered the infallible inspired word of God. It is a concept some find difficult to grasp. There are many denominations claiming differing beliefs from the same word. How can God work so absolutely through an imperfect scribe that each and every word could be claimed to be just as God had wanted? Many Christians claim that the teachings of Reverend Moon and the Unification Church are not Biblical. I have written often, at various levels on my various blogs, on the Biblical foundations of The Divine Principle; the word of God conveyed by Reverend Moon. The teachings of Reverend Moon grow one’s understanding of the Bible, and of God’s heart and intentions for man. It’s clearly apparent if one keeps an open mind. The concept of an open mind is not to allow inferior or misconstrued thoughts or beliefs to take root, but to allow one to discern which concept or understandings reflects the heart and mind of God in its truest form. A more correct understanding, or interpret

The Future of China and God’s Providence

I pray everyday for this world and God’s Providence. I read one of Reverend Moon’s speeches years ago in which He explained that He has been praying for China everyday for over twenty years. I also heard that Reverend Moon has said that everyone should read the Bible from cover to cover at least five times. It was one of the first things I set my mind to do after I joined. As I pray everyday, day after day, China is a part of those prayers. The Unification of North and South Korea is a much bigger part. It is central to God’s Providence that Korea be reunited for the establishment of God’s Kingdom here on this earth. Recently I read a story that an airplane, identical to the one Kim Jung Un flies in crashed in North Korea. Though the leader of North Korea was not on the plane speculation resurfaced as to what would become of North Korea if the Kim family rule came to an end. The biggest threat to the reunification of Korea, especially if instability should strike the North, is Ch

The Gay Marriage Ruling and the Unification Church

I have written several commentaries on homosexual marriage on this blog and on my human rights/political blog. My beliefs are clear and so are those of the Unification Church. Just the other day my wife and I were reading pages upon pages of Reverend Moon’s words from some of His endless speeches in which He derided the homosexual culture as utterly satanic and a sign of the downfall of this once great nation. This confusion over homosexual marriage, this loss of a national moral compass could have all been avoided if Reverend Moon’s message had not been rejected some forty years ago. Along with the words of our recent study, Reverend Moon went around this nation on several speaking tours warning of exactly what has become of this nation today. He spoke at Madison Square Garden, Yankee Stadium, The National Mall in Washington DC and every major city across the country in the 1970’s. Reverend Moon was mocked and ridiculed yet today exactly what he predicted would become of the Uni

“God is not Dead”; the Movie; the Debate; the Power

Spoiler alert. My wife and I watched the movie “God is not Dead” via Amazon Prime on our Roku. It is a well made movie. The costs in taking a stand for one’s faith are well portrayed but a more positive, perhaps too positive, reality is the moral of the story. There is a clear delineation of the secular verses the religious perspectives on life. The arguments in favor of the existence of God are strong and answer the strongest arguments against the existence of God, that is, when intellectual honesty is demanded. Science and scientists, philosophy and philosophers are all covered in the arguments. Astoundingly these arguments do not dominate the movie, the life of faith elements are their in a flawless flow. It is a really well made movie. There is a subtle theme of alienation throughout. That is, how an appearance of alienation is created if you stand for your faith. It is contrasted with the true alienation one lives in when separated from God. Those in the suppos

Why Scientology is not a Religion

The short answer is, Scientology is not a religion because they have become what they despise. I believe Scientology has discovered an important dynamic concerning the influence of the unseen upon our physical and mental wellbeing. Their system of counseling in connection with some kind of monitoring equipment appears capable of guiding people to change their spiritual reality. How else can one explain the life changing experiences of members or why anyone would possibly stay committed to the group. Their method may warrant research and expand the scope of scientific inquiry. None of this however makes Scientology a religion. Furthermore, it grows more apparent with every new revelation that Scientology is an over controlling and abusive organization. I know, everyone wants to scream “They’re a cult. What do you expect?” Have you ever been accused of being in a cult? (But you are in a cult, blah blah blah) It is a devastating designation. True, most people are willing to give a
